The bottom line

Peptides such as copper tripeptide (GHK-Cu) and biomimetic sequences try to influence the same signaling environment growth factors act on. The idea is sound and cell data is encouraging, but controlled human hair trials are scarce, a C, and a category to watch rather than rely on.

How they relate to growth factors

Peptides and growth factors sit on the same axis, both try to send the follicle a pro-growth message. The difference is specificity and evidence: FGF-2 and FGF-7 are the actual signals the biology uses and carry stronger mechanistic grounding, while most cosmetic peptides are smaller, less specific, and less studied in hair.

They also share the same limitation, a peptide that can't reach the papilla can't act, which again puts delivery at the centre of the question.
