Our standing policy

Editorial independence

The Review exists to tell readers what the evidence actually supports, even when that answer is inconvenient for a product, an ingredient, or us. This page is the standing commitment that makes those grades worth reading.

Six commitments
01 · No manufacturer advertising
We sell no advertising, sponsored placements, or paid listings to ingredient or product manufacturers. There is no rate card.
02 · Grades are not for sale
A commercial relationship never moves a grade. Every score follows the same published methodology, applied identically to every intervention.
03 · Reader-supported
We are funded by readers, not by the industry we cover. That is the whole reason the verdicts can be blunt.
04 · Conflicts disclosed in place
Where any commercial link exists, it is named on the same page it affects, not buried in a policy nobody reads.
05 · No affiliate on a verdict
If a link ever earns a commission, it is labeled and kept off the grade. A revenue path can never be the reason something scored well.
06 · Corrections, and dated
When the literature changes, the review changes with it, and the update carries a date so you can see what moved and when.
The short version

If a grade would embarrass a sponsor, that is exactly the grade we are here to publish. We would rather lose the revenue than the reader.

Questions about a specific disclosure, or think we got a call wrong? That is what the editors' inbox is for.
